Wendela Jamie at 1st Trot Up

Congratulations to Sydney International Eventing for putting on a wonderful event for all. Mike Etherington Smith added a whole new dimension to the event to produce a truly international standard 3 star. Just about everyone who thinks they have a ticket to London turned up to compete to make the CCI*** class a tough field.

Congratulations to Julie and Keith Osborne’s, Sandhills Brillaire showed she was up to the task to run a credable 10th.

Wendela Jamie missed a months work leading into Sydney with a foot abcess so the decision was made not to run him cross country. This proved to be the right decision as the horses were finishing cross country quite tired. Jamie will show his hand to selectors for London at Melbourne CCI*** in June. It was a good opportunity for Jamie to do the dressage test in a ‘big’ atmosphere as he hasn’t competed since October 2011. He will now run at Equestriad and then on to Melbourne.

The Sandhills team travelled to Albury for a great week-end of eventing. Sandhills Special placed 5th in the Intro with Prue and Craig rode Sandhills Piper to a 5th place in the Pre Novice.

Sandhills Brillaire

Sandhills had a great week-end at Belltrees in the Upper Hunter Valley competing at Scone Horse Trials.

Craig competed Sandhills Brillaire in the CNC*** for a 3rd place and Wendela Legato in the Intro for a 6th place.

Prue competed Sandhills Special for a win the Introductory – what a nice rug it was too!!

Sandhills Special by Croftlea Artizan from Sandhills Secret (Staccato). Special has started her eventing career with Prue and together they have not been out of a place. Special in the culmination of years of breeding and Prue is certainly reeping the benefits. Special has a wonderful temperament with great movement and an exceptional jump.
